Prithvi Shaw scored Mumbai’s treble against Assam in the Ranji Trophy on Wednesday.
It was Shaw’s first 300 in first-class cricket. His highest score so far was 202. Shaw became the eighth batsman from Mumbai to reach the milestone.
Starting with an overnight score of 240, Shaw achieved three tons in his second morning session of Round 5. Shaw batted against captain Ajinkya Rahane and led the Mumbai side to an astounding single score of nearly 500 points.
Shaw had a lean run in the tournament before the Assam match, with just 160 carries from Mumbai’s previous seven innings. The 23-year-old played his 41st match between the 12th century and his 15th half-century, scoring over 3300 runs in his first-class career.
