Starting with an overnight score of 240, Shaw achieved three tons in his second morning session of Round 5. Shaw batted against captain Ajinkya Rahane and led the Mumbai side to an astounding single score of nearly 500 points.

Shaw had a lean run in the tournament before the Assam match, with just 160 carries from Mumbai’s previous seven innings. The 23-year-old played his 41st match between the 12th century and his 15th half-century, scoring over 3300 runs in his first-class career.
